Brenna Coates was born in Toronto, Ontario to actor Kim Coates and teacher Diana Chappell but her family moved to Los Angeles soon after. A dual citizen, Coates received her BFA from Tisch School of Performing Arts at NYU. She originated the role of #7 in the hit Off-Broadway show The Wolves which took the theatre world by storm in 2016, performing at New York Stage and Film's Powerhouse Theater and The Duke on 42nd Street.
