Yon Tumarkin was born in Jaffa in 1989. He graduated "Ironi Alef School of Arts" high-school with a major in cinema. As a boy, Yon starred in three seasons of the television show "The Kids from Napoleon Hill" ("HaYeladim MeGivaat Napoleon"). Additionally, he acted in the role of Dylan, the lead character in the sci-fi drama "The Island" ("Ha'Ei"), which also lasted for three seasons. Both shows were critically acclaimed. Yon won "Actor of the Year" awards for four years in a row (2008-2011) in the Israeli Children's Choice awards. On August of 2008, Yon was drafted to the IDF. During his service he has received special permits to continue in pursuit of his career as an actor; this has allowed him to participate in the filming of "Rock The Casbah". Yon completed his tour of duty after serving a full three year term. Between the years 2009-2011 Yon has acted in the television drama "Split" ("Hatzuya"), where he played the part of Leo, a 600 year old vampire with the appearance of a high-school student. The show was extremely successful, and has been sold for broadcast world-wide. It is broadcast in South America, Russia and numerous other countries to this day. During his career, Yon has acted in a play as part of the Short Theater Plays Festival, and as a lead in the children's musical adaptation of "Home Alone". He has acted in numerous TV shows for both adults and children, and has twice appeared in the "Festigal", Israel's foremost children's theater event. Recently, Yon has completed shooting the fourth season of the suspense-drama "The Arbitrator" ("Haborer"), one of the most watched shows in Israeli television.
