Rudy Martinez grew up in South Pasadena, California. He ventured into the creative arts at a young age, immersing himself in the world of performing arts, clowning, puppetry, theatre performance, and vocal studies. He received his BFA in Theater Arts from the University of California Santa Barbara, where he was immersed in conservatory style acting training. He received a research grant to study puppetry and physical theater and he's been making puppets for theater ever since.After college, Rudy began working with renowned theater companies like South Coast Repertory, East West Players, and Independent Shakespeare Company. His performance in "Angel of the Desert" at Studio SCR was called "sensitive and emotionally raw" by the OC Examiner and he won a Best Supporting Actor award for that role. He is also part of the Ovation Award Nominated cast of "Edith Can Shoot Things And Hit Them" produced by Artists At Play.On TV, Rudy enjoyed being a recurring host on "Disney 365," a beloved interstitial program on The Disney Channel. He's had guest roles on The Disney Channel and Nickelodeon and he has recurring roles on NBC's "Heartbeat" and "Jane The Virgin." When he's not acting he enjoys sketching, playing his ukulele, and writing plays for the theater. Hide
